Welcome to the 2014 Gulf States Caravan. My name is Glenn Johnson. My wife, Andrea, and I live in Port Neches, Texas and are thrilled that we have been asked to serve as Captains of the 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan. We look forward to working with each and every Corvette Club and Corvette enthusiast in Southeast Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Northwest Florida.

Talladega Superspeedway Track Activities have been finalized
Mail-in registrations will close Friday, August 1st.
All registrations must be received by Aug. 1st.
You may register, during check-in, at the GS Region Headquarters Hotel on Monday ONLY.

Plans are now finalized for the Talladega Superspeedway track activities. A day at the Talladega Superspeedway will include 3 track laps, admission to the Talladega Superspeedway Museum, admission to the Talladega Track Tour and shopping in the Talladega Superspeedway Gift Shop. The cost will be $75 per Corvette, which covers track laps, museum and track tour admission.

To participate, in this event, you must:

1. Be a registered participant of the 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan.
2. Complete the Gulf States Region Talladega Superspeedway Event registration form.

Changes in Mailing Address or Email Address

2014 NCM 20th Anniversary Celebration and Gulf States Region Caravan Registration Process

There are two registrations that you need to complete.

1. Register for the 2014 20th Anniversary Celebration

• Early-registration closes at 8am CT Monday, July 21, 2014
  Only On-site registration is available after online closes
  On-site registration opens at 8:00am on Wednesday, August 27th
• Register with the NCM for the 20th Anniversary Celebration and designate that you will be caravanning with the Gulf States Region.
• There is one (1) registration for EACH Caravan participant. Register for yourself and your spouse/guest.
• You must select that you are caravanning with the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan as you register EACH participant. Example: You register yourself and select Gulf States Region. Then, you register your spouse/guest and select Gulf States Region for them.
• Lastly, do not register for the NCM Ambassador luncheon UNLESS you are an NCM Ambassador for your club or organization.

2. Register with the 2014 Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan

• Online-registration closes Friday, August 1, 2014.
• Only On-site registration is available after online closes.
• On-site registration opens at 1:00 pm on Monday, August 25th and will continue at 8:00 am on Tuesday, August 26that the GS Region Headquarter Hotel.
• Register (registering is simply emailing the requested information to the Gulf States Region Caravan Captain at ) with the 2014 Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan, which is a separate registration - There is NO registration fee for the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan.
• Registration with the Gulf States Region is strictly to help us in our planning and fund raising activities. We appreciate your understanding and your helpful information. Thank you!

*Each participant, who registers with the Gulf States Region and who provides t-shirt sizes during registration, will be given a FREE t-shirt upon arrival at the 2014 Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan Headquarters in Birmingham, AL.

These are standard t-shirts, with the 2014 Gulf States Region Caravan logo, true to size. All t-shirts are Men's sizes: S, M, L, XL, XXL or XXXL.

T-Shirt sizes ordered can not be changed at check-in so please order the appropriate size.

Gulf States Corvette Caravan Information:

Day 1:
Saturday, August 23
The Gulf States Region Caravan will leave Houston, TX and travel Interstate-10 to New Orleans, LA where it will stay overnight.

  Overnight in New Orleans, LA

• The Hilton New Orleans Riverside will serve as the New Orleans Host Hotel.
• Reservation cut-off date was Monday, July 28, 2014
  • The Hilton New Orleans Riverside overlooks the Mississippi River and downtown New Orleans - a prime location to experience the best New Orleans restaurants, nightlife and attractions.
  • The hotel is located a short four block walk to the city's colorful French Quarter and across the street from Harrah's Casino.

Day 2:
Sunday, August 24
The Gulf States Region Caravan will resume and follow Interstate-10 to Hwy 231 and turn north to Dothan, AL where it will stay overnight.

George Heneveld and the Circle City Corvette Club will serve as the host Corvette Club. George Heneveld, Alabama & NW Florida Regional Leader, has planned a spectacular evening for all the Gulf States Region Caravan participants in Dothan, AL. You will not want to miss this evening social! Socializing, dinner and entertainment will make for an incredible evening. In addition to a fabulous dinner, George has contracted with the following acts to provide professional entertainment for all of the Gulf States Region participants.

• The Legends, with Ronnie "The Hat" Robinson as their front man and lead vocalist, has performed with acts such as Percy Sledge, Clarence Carter, The Temptations, The Drifters and many more.
• John Yates, his ventriloquism began when he was eight years old and he has performed at concerts, banquets and other venues ever since.
• J.J. Justice, mind reading, comedy and mystery entertainment for all.

Providing this kind of evening is expensive and we will ask that you help us defray some of the cost. We will be asking for a $10 per person contribution, which will be collected at the door. This is a small contribution for such a wonderful evening and it is much less expensive than going out to dinner on your own. This is going to be an evening to remember!

If you are not registered for the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan, there will be a $25 per person charge to attend the social. You may pay at the door.

There will be shuttles from each of official Gulf States Region Caravan Dothan hotels to the Dothan Civic Center or you may drive you own Corvette.

• The Holiday Inn Express will serve as the Dothan Host Hotel.
  Holiday Inn and Sleep Inn will serve as back-up hotels.
  Tell them you are with the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan.

Monday, August 25
The Central Mississippi Gulf States Region Caravan will caravan, Monday, August 25, from Jackson, MS to the Gulf States Region Headquarters in Birmingham, AL.

Day 4:
Tuesday, August 26

• Individual participants continue to arrive at the GS Region Headquarters.
  
• Registration continues from 9-12 p.m. and from 1-4 p.m.
  
• GS Region participants take advantage of various activities throughout the day.
  
• An evening social will be held at the Birmingham Marriott for all registered Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan participants. An evening of food and socializing, for all participants, getting ready for the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan to the National Corvette Museum.
  • If you are not registered for the Gulf States Region Corvette Caravan, there will be a $25 per person charge to attend the social. You may pay at the door.

Day 5:
2014 Gulf States Region Caravan Route from Birmingham to Bowling Green

Wednesday August 27
The Gulf States Region Caravan will travel I-459 to I-65 N from the Gulf States Region Headquarters to the National Corvette Museum, Bowling Green, KY.

We will be escorted from Kentucky Downs to the NCM for our arrival parade at the Museum.
