ATTENTION CORVETTE ENTHUSIASTS:

Are you ready for another caravan? If you missed the 50th Anniversary of Corvette caravan in 2003, and/or the 15th National Corvette Museum (NCM) Anniversary caravan in 2009, here is your chance to join other Corvette friends for the 20th Anniversary of the National Corvette Museum by participating in the 2014 Corvette Caravan.

Mark your calendars for August 23 - 31, 2014. The 2014 Carolinas and Virginia (C&VA) Corvette Caravan festivities will begin in Concord, NC on August 23, and after some fun-filled events, we will make our trek to the NCM in Bowling Green, KY. Registration is required - see information below.

My name is Frank Sancineto. My wife Laura and I were captains for the 2003 North and South Carolina Caravan and the 2009 Carolinas and Virginia Caravan. We had such a great time and met so many wonderful people we now call friends, that we are going to be Regional Caravan Captains again for this trip.

2014 Carolinas & Virginia Caravan Calendar

Our 2014 road trip begins at the Host Hotel in Concord NC - The Hampton Inn, I-85 at Exit 49, 9850 Weddington Rd., Concord, NC 28027.

• Saturday, August 23, 2014: We will start the fun with a Meet & Greet event and Caravan Registration Check-in at the host hotel. Hotel Reservation Information listed below. Dinner on your own at one of the many great local restaurants.

• Sunday August 24, 2014: Caravan Registration Check-in continues. Interested participants will be able to run track laps on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track - between 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. There will be a separate charge for this activity - fee TBD. Additional track information and the process for enrollment will be communicated as we get closer to the event. An evening dinner will be held at the host hotel, starting at 4:30pm, for registered caravan participants.

• Monday, August 25, 2014: Caravan Registration Check-in and a day of Race Team Shop Tours, shopping and other fun activities will be held. More information will be communicated when available. Dinner served at the hotel at 6:00 pm for registered caravan participants.

• Tuesday August 26, 2014: The C&VA Caravan Route begins with participants meeting at 9:00am for breakfast, served at and hosted by our sponsor, Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC, and the caravan will depart from there. More information (directions, etc.) will be provided to participants.

  • Lunch: The caravan will stop at the famous Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC for lunch at the Deer Park Restaurant. There will be a charge for lunch-TBD.

  • We will depart Biltmore at approximately 2:00pm for our final destination that day, which will be the host hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites Sevierville at 105 Stadium Drive, Kodak, TN. Final Caravan Registration Check-in will be available, and pizza, drinks and an ice cream social will be served to round out our day.

  Please note: Those who are not starting in Concord but plan to join the Caravan in Sevierville/Kodak, TN on Tuesday evening - please plan to join us for the festivities at the Hampton Inn & Suites Sevierville, and pick up your caravan registration packet. More detailed info will be available later.

• Wednesday, August 27, 2014:

  • BY 10:00am - Meet at the Smoky Mountain Stadium parking lot, directly adjacent to the Hampton Inn.
  • Lunch: We'll be stopping in Columbia, KY for food and fuel before we make the final run into the Museum.
  • The Caravan Route will follow I-40 W, to I-75 N, to Kentucky 80 W, to I-65S and ARRIVE at the National Corvette Museum that afternoon.

One Acre Club Spotlight: Carolinas & Virginia Corvette Caravan

Corvette enthusiasts from the Carolina's & Virginia Corvette Caravan have committed to joining our "One Acre Club" as a part of their ongoing support for the National Corvette Museum. As one of the 29 caravan groups participating in the , members of this leg hail from various parts of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Their journey in the 2014 National event will begin in Concord, North Carolina and end in Bowling Green, Kentucky for fun Corvette festivities at the Museum.

Many of the Carolina's & Virginia Corvette Caravan participants are Lifetime Members of the Museum, and have participated in past Caravans and other Museum events. "We are very excited to be able to involve all of our members and participate in this project," said Caravan Captain Frank Sancineto. "We hope that our contribution will set a trend for other Caravan groups to do the same!"

The National Corvette Museum Caravans have become an integral part of today's Corvette culture. This nationwide caravan was organized in 1994 to celebrate the opening of the National Corvette Museum and again in 1999 to commemorate the NCM's 5th anniversary celebration. In 2003, a 3rd National Caravan was organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Corvette Marque. The 2009 National Corvette Caravan was held to celebrate the NCM's 15th Anniversary. The 5th National Caravan in 2014 will celebrate the Museum's 20th Anniversary and promises to be the largest caravan yet.
