Wyoming

Welcome to the Wyoming home page for the 2014 National Corvette Museum Caravan. I am Lynn McBride and I have been chosen to be the Captain for Wyoming. I am new to the Caravan and look forward to share this experience with my husband Kevin. I intend to make contact with every Corvette club in the state and encourage them to become involved in the 2014 Caravan. Please email me ( ) if you have plans to attend our section of the caravan and I will add you to my email list.

Note: The Wyoming Caravan will be joining up with the Pacific Northwest Caravan one of the largest caravans with registered participants to date when they stop in Casper Wyoming for lunch.

Registration
Please register to be sure you are included in all the up-to-date news about your caravan (and Hotels) with the Wyoming Caravan.
Go to: http://www.corvettemuseum.org/registration/celebration/20info.shtml

Some are confused about having to register both persons of your party. Full registration for the NCM 20th Anniversary ($0-$15-$25 depending on membership standing), AND the $5.00 fee for the Pacific NW Caravan FOR EACH PERSON. (Every Caravan across the country is listed, so please register for the Caravan Section (Wyoming) that you will be joining in at. Your Captains appreciate your attention to this. The credentials the Captains receive are determined by the Caravan you sign up with. If we have ones outside of our area, we may think that you canceled and not know where you are. It also helps the Captains with planning stops and events for people/car counts. Thank you!)

Our plan is to arrive in Bowling Green, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 4:00PM this time! This means that we have almost 5 days in Bowling Green, making it a real treat to see and participate in the local area's festivities, events, tours, and landmarks.

All Corvettes Owners are welcome to join in our caravan!

Scheduled plans to date from Casper (subject to change)

Sunday, August 24 Casper will have a "Welcome to Casper, Wyoming" lunch that is to be catered by Famous Dave's at $9PP at the Eastridge Mall for the Pacific Northwest Caravan led by their Captain, Robin Forrer. While in Casper you can visit either the Historic Trails Museum or Fort Caspar. From Casper the Wyoming group will join up with the Pacific Northwest group to Cheyenne.

The caravan will continue to Cheyenne for a visit to the Cheyenne Depot Museum from 5:00 - 8:00pm. There is a small entry charge for this but try and make it. There is a restaurant at the depot and in the area where the hotels are also nearby. In Cheyenne the Northern California/Nevada and Utah caravan, led by their Captain, Don Herzer are scheduled to join the caravan.

Monday, August 25 We travel through Nebraska, leaving Cheyenne at 7:30am. A suggested stop would be North Platte for lunch. A stop in Kearny, at the Great Platte River Road Archway would be next. This museum is in the top 10 across the country and offers a look at the travels across the plains to the West.

The entrance fee is being set up on a group rate and food is available for purchase at this location. Monday evening, we arrive at the Hay Market District of Lincoln Nebraska. The Nebraska Caravan group, led by Captains Bruce Younglove and Bill Zuspan will help to celebrate our arrival.

Tuesday, August 26 Between 8-11am, we visit the Museum of American Speed. The Nebraska Captain has arranged for a free entry fee for this event and lunch will follow.

Then onto Columbia, MO for an evening welcome party with the Mid Missouri Corvette Club and evening stay.

Wednesday, August 27 depart at 7:30am for Bowling Green, KY. We will regroup likely in Evansville, Indiana and have a Kentucky State Police escort into the NCM, with arrival at 4:30pm.

OUR Arrival in Bowling Green:
Our plan is to arrive in Bowling Green, on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 as our newly scheduled 4:30 time slot. This means that we have almost 5 days in Bowling Green, making it a real treat to see and participate in the local areas festivities, events, tours, and landmarks. There is talk on the Caravan Chat about Distilleries Tours getting organized, so log on to the Caravan Chat if interested. The NCM will probably have directions, but if in doubt you can email the various counties and brochures mailed to your home.

Route Book:
A complete itinerary of information, routes, etc. will be available in the route book you will be receiving from me. I have mailed out our Route books to the current registrants. Only registered participants will be receiving this Book.

Museum Tours and Seminars/activities

Your Registration fee includes self guided tours of the National Corvette Museum that can be taken anytime during the Museums open hours. The separate road trip tours will be self-guided and directions will be available at the Museum. You can make your own schedule as to when you would want to do these things. Seminars will be repeated as much as possible, Thursday, Friday and some Saturday also. The list is available on the NCM Website under:

Review these options to help plan out your stay in Bowling Green for the 20th Anniversary Celebration!
