Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965

Chula Vista Resort, , is one of the Midwest's premier resorts, and an ideal beginning site for most of Wisconsin and others who want to take this route. It is also a great place to spend the day before the official Caravan begins.
On Monday afternoon, August 25, 2014, participants may spend time at the Dells Raceway Track and drive hot laps on the 1/3 Mile paved oval. Or, participate in the many activities at the resort, including the waterpark, golf, swimming or simply relaxing or touring Wisconsin Dells - Hundreds of ways to have fun!
In the evening there will be an informal get together and a banquet with a presentation about the next two days activities and also the activities at the National Corvette Museum once the caravan arrives.
Check-in will begin on Monday, August 25 at noon and staging will begin the next morning at 7:00 am with departure time probably at 9:00 am.
Tuesday, August 26 we will begin at 8:00am the Caravan with a scenic drive through the Wisconsin countryside and then the caravan will travel the interstate system for a trip to Bloomington, Illinois for a catered lunch at Leman's Chevy City, Part of Sam Leman Automotive Group, one of the largest Chevrolet dealers in downstate Illinois. Gas will also be available next door to Leman's Chevy City.
We plan to meet some of the Illinois Caravan at Maggio's Auto & Truck Center, just south of Rockford where we will stop for a rest stop. Both groups will then caravan along the I-39 corridor heading towards Bloomington. This will be a fun group!!
After lunch at Leman's Chevy City, the caravan will continue on an eight mile scenic drive through the countryside before joining the interstates and reaching Effingham, Illinois.
After you check in and freshen up a bit, we will head out to the beautiful Tuscan Hills Winery for some wine tasting and a great buffet dinner. The tastings are $5 and are not included with the buffet. The Winery will collect for the tastings. Tastings can start as early as 5:00pm. It is a beautiful place to relax. We will have the Winery all to ourselves from 6-9 PM. for those that sign up. To sign up send me an email with name and how many.
The buffet will be catered by Niemerg's Steakhouse. The cost will be 15.00 per person cash only payable at the door. This is a great value for our caravan. The menu will be Fried Chicken and BBQ Pork Loin. Mashed Potatoes & Brown Gravy, Corn, Green Beans, Noodles, Cole Slaw, 7 Layer Salad, Rolls & Butter. Desert will be an assortment of Niemberg's famous Homemade Pies. Coffee, Ice Tea & Lemonade. Real Plates, Silverware, Cups. A great way to finish the day chatting with like minded people, sharing stories of the road and those Corvettes we all love.
Speaking of LOVE! Everyone loves ELVIS! Yes, Scott Wattles of the Blue Suede Crew will entertain you with a solo performance of the King himself. From Vegas to the Winery you will love this show. No charge to you, thank you PPG and Single Source our Major sponsors. http://www.bluesuedecrew.com/schedule
We will stop for the evening at Effingham where hotels have been reserved. Information on these are posted below.
Hotel Updates as of January 2014:
The Country Inn and Suites in Effingham () has blocked off 55 rooms. Group rates are: $94.35 w/tax for a standard room and $105.45 w/tax for a suite.
The Holiday Inn in Effingham (Former Hilton Garden Inn) has blocked off 74 standard rooms and 38 Suites for us. Group rates are: $109.89 w/tax for a standard room and 143.19 w/tax for a Suite.
The Hampton Inn & Suites (newest hotel in Effingham) has blocked off 50 rooms. The group rate is $120.99 w/tax for a standard room.
The caravan participants just need to reference: Corvette Caravan 2014. The rooms will stay blocked until 30 days before the event.
Remember to check the expiration date on the credit card that you use to reserve your room. If it expires before the reservation date, your rooms will probably be automatically cancelled. The hotel doesn't usually notify you of the cancellation either.
Wednesday morning all of the joined caravans will leave the Mid-America lot around 10:00 am and do an Illinois highway run through southern Illinois, catching the Interstate at the Illinois/Indiana border.
There will be a lunch/gas stop before the final KY turnpike run into Bowling Green. At this point we should have hundreds of Corvettes stretched out for miles!
One heads up, the WI/UP Caravan is not reserving hotel rooms in Bowling Green. There are more hotel rooms in Bowling Green than for previous caravans, and the area has always ended up with empty rooms after all the groups that reserved large blocks released the rooms. We will work with the local chamber to keep you informed on room availability and when rooms are released for booking.
Start making your plans now and reserving your dates. You are not going to want to miss this 2014 Caravan/NCM Celebration! Watch this page for additional information.
Also join us at Corvette Adventures, www.CorvetteAdventures.com, June 6 - 9, 2014 at Chula Vista Resort for a Caravan presentation Saturday evening, June 8.
For those participants in the Caravan who live closer to the lake and south of Milwaukee, an alternative starting point will be at:
Lynch Superstore
2300 Browns Lake Drive
Burlington, WI 53105
We plan to leave from this location on Tuesday, August 26th, 2014 at 9:00 am with check-in and staging beginning at 8:00 am. Finalized times will be posted as we get closer to that date and have determined how many we will have. The Lynch dealership will have some kickoff refreshments before we leave.
The plan is to meet the main Wisconsin/Western Upper Peninsula of Michigan Caravan from Chula Vista Resort at Rockford on I-39 and travel to Bloomington, IL for a catered lunch at Leman's Chevy City, Part of Sam Leman Automotive Group, one of the largest Chevrolet dealers in downstate Illinois. We will then travel to Bowling Green on the schedule mentioned above.
Once in Bowling Green the caravan will officially be over and you can enjoy the activities scheduled at the museum.

There are only a few days we are in Bowling Green, and reservations for the Assembly Plant fill up fast.
